What are your views on immigration and illegal immigrants?

Recently I have discovered some interesting opinions on illegal "aliens." Some people believe that because they are illegal they don't have the right to public education. It amazes me how sometimes people forget that these "aliens" are humans too. What are your opinions on immigration?

1. As you say, this subject gives motivation to some people to show the best and the worst of the human being Illegals are, as you say, human beings. Some are gangsters, criminals. True But certain people here say that ALL illegals are criminals and should be shot. Not good. Hatred is not a good thing That is not the best way to solve the problem
2. I hate them! I'd love nothing more than to hit'em with a broom and tell'em to get!
3. Immigration should be controlled, it should be utilised as a way of improving the host nation. For example, where there might be a shortage of a particular skill or expertise. Illegal immigrants should be deported immediately, no ifs no buts, back on the first available flight. In my view people have lost sight of the meaning of "illegal", it means unlawful, it breaks the law, it is a punishable offence. Compassion has nothing to do with it, in fact this has a bearing on what is ailing the entire judicial system. Scenario, heroin addict breaks into your home, and strips it clean. He/she is caught, goes to court and the judge takes the view that as an addict they were compelled to steal to feed their addiction, without that addiction he/she would not be a burglar. Therefore it is not their fault, slaps them on the wrist and suggests a Methadone programme. My point is that what they did broke the law, why they did it is irrelevent in my opinion, that is exactly why we have laws in the first place. We could all have a reason or an excuse for breaking some law, but it has to be upheld. Compassion is admirable but should not overrule the law.
4. You are so right! these are humans and the only crime most commit is living here illegally. They are mad because some rack up Emergency Hospital Bills they cannot pay. If they were given Heath Care, or if they weren't worked like slaves for pennies, they would be able to pay fo these bills. They want more educated people to work higher skilled jobs that speak English in America, but then want to ban them from our educational programs. They complain about them stealing our jobs, but with the flood of illegals that have left since last year, the jobs they are leaving behind aren't getting filled, but yet, our unemployment benefit claims are rising. Deporting all the illegals in this country would cause catastrophic consequences that nobody can imagine. They pay Billions in taxes every year, and make Billions in purchases as consumers every year to. 5. They are human you are right. But they are illegal and don't deserve the free education our country provides. If a child molester, or drug dealer, or arsonist wanted an education, you wouldn't be asking this question. They are both breaking the law, and need to be dealt with.

The cost of educating children here illegally and anchor babies is over 30 billion dollars a yr. that does not include free breakfast and lunch. 1/2 - 3/4 do not speak english and require special classes and teachers, not all are certified. Being human has nothing to do with it. They do not need to come over here for an education. Education is available in their own countries. The parents are responsible for making sound choices for their children and when parents don't make sound choices, unfortunately, the children pay for it. These parents who are here illegally know there will be consequences if they are caught, but are willing to take that risk and put their children at risk. There is no excuse and there should be no reward. And US taxpayers paying for their child's upbringing and education is a reward. I don't know of any country that would allow me to pack up my family and move in, without paperwork, and give me food assistance , health care, education and a job.
7. Nice way to twist things around! Try this! We all believe that illegal alien children should have a right to an education. We just differ on where they should get it! You seem to think that the US should pay to educate anyone who slithers across the border while most people think they should be educated in their country of origin! For that matter we should send the ones born here back with their mothers! How many women run across the border to sing "Anchors aweigh"?
8. There's immigration law that regulates the coming and going of immigrants.It has to be enforced otherwise illegal immigrants should be deported because it is unfair not just to the citizens here but to the immigrants who came here the legal way.
9. everyone deserves an education. for those who say "they don't speak english so they shouldn't go to school" you're dumb a$$e$. how are they gonna learn english if they don't go to school? school is one way of keeping them in check and helping them and realizing that OUR ancestors were here illegally at one point in time.
10. Hmm, I wonder the exact same thing when the American forefathers (illegal immigrants) came and took the land from the Native Amercians? Is that not the same thing that is happening now? It was okay for their ancestors to do it, but it is not okay now??
