How can I start a business in Immigration?
I am trying to start my own business in the Immigration field. I have 6 years of heavy experience in regards to Immigration and its laws. I have worked with various prestigious Immigration attorneys and other organizations. I have finally decided to become my own boss. However, I have received very little information on how to start my own business. I have heard that there are grants that the government provides, but I don't know where to go. I have searched the internet and have found very little. If any one of you can advice as to where to go or where to call, that will be very helpful. By the way I live in Dallas, TX and the competition is great, however, my ideas as to how to run the business are not liked by attorneys or organizations because they don't like to have payment plans. Please help in any way you can.

- You need to put together a business plan. This will force you to detail exactly what it is you want to do, who your clients are going to be and how you will charge them among other things. I would go to http://www.score.org and find the telephone for the Dallas chapter and set up an appointment with a local counselor. The service is free and they are very professional and good at what they do. You might also take a look at http://www.ychange.com/small-business-consulting-articles.html and read some of the articles on starting a business. Hope this helps.
- Register your firm. Make a business plan. Open a website and an office. Apply the knowledge with your charisma. Talk to the old clients. Start talking to various ethnic groups as potential bulk business clients.
