Why are people who stand up for traditional American values continually mocked by those on the left?

If you believe in personal responsibility and property rights (keeping your income) you're labeled a selfish racist bigot by these people.

1. "keeping your income" isn't a traditional American value. Taxes are lower then they've been in a decade, and they were much higher under Reagan. Who is against personal responsibility? I want you to get insurance so I don't have to pay for your kids trips to the emergency room whenever they get the flu.

10. I would personally love to keep more of my income. It's ridiculous. When are people going to start being responsible for themselves? America was not initially set up for some to work and the rest get a free ride!!! Why do half of the people living in my country think that my income is a ATM for disposal at their discretion?
11. Sorry, I question ANYONE that obtains their information from FOX, praises that blood sucking leech Palin, and thinks Rush Limbaugh is intellectual, instead of the lying bloated bag of flatulence that he is.
12. People can do everything responsible and still be screwed over. American traditions are not what they used to be. Corporations run this country, saying that they are responsible and honest.and never screw over people is nothing buth a lie. Corporations are mostly dishonest, and those who support them are no better. Traditionally, it was better then what it was. Its horrible now.
13. You can't deny there are a lot more racist bigots on the far right than the left. Those values (property rights, personal responsibility) alone are only opening up topics of debate. The problem stems from other issues that republicans have shown to have little sympathy for (such as helping the homeless, working families, and providing basic health care for their fellow countrymen.) Fox News has also tarnished the reputation of Republicans with their many misleading (and sometimes straight out untrue) stories.
14. Passing laws to force other people to follow your view of morality is not "standing up for personal responsibility." Also, the wealthy elite make their income off the backs of the working man and it is existing laws that allow them to consume an unfair share of the value created by working people. The income of the wealthy elite has gone up 400% since Reagan, while median income has stayed almost constant even though poor and middle class people work many more hours than they used to.
15. Because many of them are ignorant to the facts and just like when Germany used the school system to brainwash the kids right into Nazi Germany, it is once again repeated here in the USA, many of the teachers and professors today bring their political agendas into the classroom and with each generation passing, it is becoming more and more evident that the kids are not being taught about the founding fathers to this country and they are not being taught to be proud of this country, they are being taught that they are victims and that the government needs to take care of them.
16. Conservatives I'd like to introduce you to the 21st century. 21st century I'd like to introduce you to the political party that quit evolving sometime around 1970. Help yourselves to some food and drinks.
17. In my opinion the people on the left have been brainwashed by our public school system for decades. They are taught that all "progress" is good, traditions are bad. What they don't realize is that traditions are what keeps this country one whole nation.
18. You can't ignore such foolishness? If you're being mocked by greedy, irresponsible children, how much can that really sting? I laugh at their naivete and go about my day.
19. Being a tax scofflaw is not a legitimate expression of traditional American values, unless you're counting them in the murky "American values" category where things like jingoism, racism, exploitation of child labor, and others like that. ∠°)

It seems to me that minding your own business is also a traditional American value, it is none of your business who the person down the street is banging, it is none of your business what they are putting in their body, it is none of your business what the people in another state teach or do not teach their children, etc. Yet the same people who talk about personal responsibility and property rights are also the ones who want to police their neighbors private lives.
21. because the left believes in traditional socialist values,and hey porhtron why is it wrong for someone to get information from the only network that does not follow the liberal media guidebook,how dare someone not listen to just the liberals side and look at things from a perspective other than liberal perspective.Liberals are so threatened by anything that does not follow their agenda,dissent is only proper in the liberal eye if it supports their cause,nobody else should have that right,you people are the intolerant hateful ones,rather than debate an issue you start personal attacks and name calling. Just like when someone states they do not like Obama the first word out of your mouths is racist yet you are the racist if you look closer.So many people have to make sure everyone knows they voted for a black man and how enlightned they are now,but if you did not have any racist tendencies the fact that he is black is something that you should not even bring up,see your own hypocrisy in your own actions and self backslapping.It really annoys me to talk to an obama supporter because they almost always throw the racist thing in your face as their first defense,if they would look past their blinders they would see that I myself am not even white but rather white,black and native american and it shows if the person I am facing would stop and use their eyes and common sense. I myself have been the focal point of racial hate and would never think that way or treat another that way.I dislike obama for his poor record,lack of experience and radical association such as rev.wright or bill ayers,his church for example, I am not really a church goer but if I walk into a house of god and the minister is spewing hate and racism I am going to walk right back out not attend for 20 years and only stop when it becomes politically bad for me. And now our president is a yes man for the european union and russia in particular,russia says jump and obama says how high.This last nuclear summit that he will take credit for,the terms of the agreement were agreed upon 10 years ago and will not take effect for several more years but here is obama trying to take credit and proclaim himself the savior of the world.This man is only concerned in trying to create a personal legacy regardless of the damage it will do to this country,he is the picture you would see if you look up political corruption and arrogance,he is the picture boy for everything that is wrong in D.C.
