How has American ideals, values, ethos helped shape the immigrant community?

i have a paper to write on American Hindus and how the values ethos and American Dream helped shape the hindu community and their cultural and religious traditions . and also how they helped re-form the American identity in the lat 20th and 30th century America. i would greatly appreciate ideas, i have some but not enough.

  1. It has not. Most immigrant communities that are embedded with their parent nation's culture and worse religion do not embrace positive American cultural attributes and values. They hate assimilation especially from third-world countries and the Middle-East. But if Americans immigrated to their countries then they would force Americans to assimilate to their cultures and religions but not the other way around. How hypercritical! Yes, there is prejudice among most immigrant groups towards Americans. The bottom line is these immigrant groups have to change and not the Americans. No one forced them to immigrate to the United States.
