How many days to travel from newfoundland to new brunswick?
I have never been to eastern canada and was interested in traveling from Newfoundland to New Brunswick in one week. I am manly interested in siteseeing and historic sites. Any ideas on how many days I should allot to each of the four provinces, and the best attractions to see?

- If you go from St Johns NL to Saint John NB, it takes 23 hrs straight driving and a ferry ride. You will get off the boat in Cape Breton, and drive through portions of Nova Scotia. If you want to see PEI, when you get to Aulac hang a left and drive for about an hour. Check out mapquest........
- Ok, I'm not sure if you mean to take a week to travel from NFLD to NB, or a week to visit all four Atlantic provinces, but you will definitely need a lot longer than a week if you plan to see much more than highway! I've never been to NFLD but in Nova Scotia I would recommend the Cabot Trail, Halifax, and Peggy's Cove. The Cabot trail has breathtaking scenery, Halifax is just a really great historic city with pretty good nightlife, and Peggy's Cove, while a bit touristy, is beautiful. I've also been tidal bore rafting on the Shubenacadie River and it's a wild ride and loads of fun! In New Brunswick I wouldn't miss the Fundy Coast - Fundy National Park is nice for hiking, kayaking, etc. and Hopewell Cape Rocks are where you can "walk on the Ocean Floor." The Bay of Fundy is also famous for whale watching, if you're into that kind of stuff. Fredericton is the capital city and has a nice, historical feel, and the gorge and falls in Grand Falls are really awesome. As for PEI, my only experience has been that it's very touristy and very pricey in the summer, so check out their website listed below to see what takes your fancy. If I were you I would allow at least two weeks to see the four provinces, and even then I'd say you were pushing it. If you only have a week, maybe limit it to two provinces and come back to see the other two another time. - If you're driving, it's a bit of a long trip. the ferry ride from Cape Breton (Nova Scotia) to Port-aux-Basques, Nfld. is about 6 hours, and if you're going to the city of St. John's, the provincial capital, it's another 15 hours or so of driving, crossing the entire island. I'd allot three days if you want to just drive and sleep, and maybe pull over to take some pictures. Stopping at museums and lighthouses and pubs and such will add more time. Take a week, enjoy the trip. Or fly from Moncton to Halifax to St. John's and get there in a few hours. Both are good.
