Is it possible for a college student to open a financial brokerage?

I am interested in starting a business and I have a question on a specific idea. Is it possible for a student to provide financial advice, control others' money, and inject it into market? Open a simple brokerage? What are the regulations? I am guessing it's very hard for an individual to open a brokerage legally...
